Biker critically injured in crash on N3 in Bedfordview

Paramedics immediately initiated CPR, and after a few minutes, managed to get the patient's heart beating again.

Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to reports of a serious motorbike collision on the N3 North Van Buuren Road in Bedfordview yesterday afternoon.

Paramedics arrived on-scene to find a motorcyclist lying in the middle lane on the highway, next to a badly damaged motorbike, after colliding with a car.

On assessment it was found that the motorcyclist was in a critical condition and required immediate Advanced Life Support interventions.

While working to stabilise the biker, the patient went into cardiac arrest.

Paramedics immediately initiated CPR, and after a few minutes, managed to get the patient’s heart beating again.

The patient was then rushed to a nearby specialist trauma hospital for urgent surgical management.

The details regarding the cause of the collision are unknown and will form part of a police investigation.
