Club celebrates Freedom Day

During the meeting, Mr Sibusiso Tshona delivered his first speech, the Competent Communicator 1 speech.

The Modderfontein Breakfast Club celebrated Freedom Day with its members and visitors during its meeting on April 23.

During the meeting, Mr Sibusiso Tshona delivered his first speech, the Competent Communicator 1 speech.

This speech is where new members introduce themselves to the club. It is the beginning of the journey where members learn valuable communication skills which assist in business and other presentations.

Two members, Ms Ntombi Manaka and Mr Dylan Cooke-Tonnesen, qualified as Competent Communicators, where they learnt the basic speaking skills and now progress to specialising in specific areas.

The final speech aimed to inspire the audience to take action. Mr Cooke-Tonnesen spoke about overcoming fears, while Ms Manaka spoke about being more punctual and respecting the value of time.

Toastmasters provides a supportive and encouraging environment for learning vital communication and leadership skills.
