A 30-year-old man was arrested in Yeoville on Tuesday after officers noticed a motorist driving recklessly.
The Yeoville SAPS communications officer, Constable Thabo Malatji, said the man was arrested at about 4pm at the corner of Bezuitenhout and Francis streets.
Police officers, who were on a routine patrol, noticed a maroon Toyota Tazz being driven recklessly.
“They stopped the vehicle and there was one occupant. When officers enquired about the status of the vehicle it was discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Tembisa in April 2016.
“The driver was arrested and detained at the Yeoville SAPS. He is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of possession of a stolen motor vehicle,” said Const Malatji.
