A school child is believed to have been killed in a crash this morning involving a taxi.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Second Street and Twelfth Avenue, Edenvale.

According to Mrs Linda McKenzie, chairperson of the Edenvale Community Police Forum (ECPF), injured passengers were taken to hospital for treatment.

“One passenger who appeared to be a young female high school pupil was declared dead at the scene,” she said.

The cause of the crash will form part of a police investigation.
