Fallen firefighter remembered

South African Emergency Care (SAEC), based in Modderfontein, held a memorial burnout for Kibler Park Fire Department station commander Mr Allan Barker.

The event was held on Friday night, May 27.

Mr Barker died on May 2 in the Union Hospital.

Firefighters from across the City of Ekurhuleni were joined by firefighters from the City of Johannesburg as they paid tribute to the work Mr Barker had achieved.

Family and friends of Mr Barker were also in attendance.

The ceremony concluded with the handing over of a South African flag and Mr Barker’s helmet to his family.

The ceremony was followed by a burnout.
