SAPS tackles noise pollution

"We urge liquor outlets not to trade in liquor out of their trading hours"

The Edenvale SAPS has received a number of complaints regarding disturbance of the peace and liquor outlets that trade after their allocated trading hours.

One complaint received was against a church for peace disturbance.

“The complaint was made on a Sunday,” said Edenvale SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Jean Olckers.

“The liquor act must be complied with and we will investigate all the complaints received from the public,” said W/O Jean Olckers.

He said, “We urge liquor outlets not to trade in liquor out of their trading hours and to take late-night sound levels into consideration.”
