First Bedfordview Scout Troop took part in a survival camp

The 1st Bedfordview Scout Troop recently joined six other scout troops on a week-long survival camp on the banks of the Pongola River.

The First Bedfordview Scout Troop recently joined six other Scout troops on a week-long survival camp on the banks of the Pongola River.

The Scouts learnt how to build shelters, purify water, cook food without utensils and how to navigate by the stars, among other skills.

Scouting and Cubbing offers young people between the ages of seven and 18 an opportunity to learn about a variety of outdoor skills, including navigation, survival skills, camping, cooking, pioneering, boating, airman-ship and much more.
