WARNING: Strong winds expected to hit Gauteng overnight

The City of Ekurhuleni has issued a warning for strong and damaging winds overnight.

Strong winds are expected to hit Gauteng from midnight.

Residents are advised to stay indoors and away from the windows that open towards the winds.

Those who are travelling should be aware of cross winds especially between buildings and flying debris.

Residents should also stay clear of fallen trees and power lines.

The City of Ekurhuleni’s Disaster and Management Services officials will be on high alert for as long as the adverse weather conditions persist.

Should there be an emergency residents are encouraged to contact the Ekurhuleni Emergency Centre on (011) 458-0911 or  10177.
