Two suspects were arrested in connection with an Avenues house robbery on August 16 at the intersection of Van Riebeeck Avenue and Stoneridge Drive.
According to Captain Jean Olckers, spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, the arrest was made by members of the SAPS Flying Squad and Edenvale’s Crime Prevention Unit.
Capt Olckers said a member of the neighbourhood watch alerted police of the suspects when he saw the suspects commit the robbery.
“The suspects were heading out of Edenvale, in a vehicle taken during the house robbery, when they were arrested,” said Capt Olckers.
He said that police recovered the vehicle and items taken during the robbery.
“The Edenvale SAPS would like to thank the patroller for his bravery and quick reaction as well as the police officers involved,” said Capt Olckers.
