Residents have sung the praises of Superintendent Grant Glen for his role in the arrest of one of the suspects involved in Tuesday’s shoot-out in Bedfordview.
The Bedfordview Community Policing Forum (BCPF) said the arrest is hugely significant and a victory for the community.
“The suspect has four outstanding warrants of arrest and a rap sheet [criminal record] of 32 pages long. He is wanted for various schedule six offenses and is therefore unlikely to get bail,” said the BCPF.
Spokesperson for the Bedfordview Police Station, Captain Andre de Jager said the suspect was one of the most wanted suspects in the region.
The suspect and his accomplices robbed a woman of her Rolex watch and cellphone.
