Rotary donates to Avalon

The home provides 24/7 basic caregiving and emotional support to the residents, as well as accommodation and three meals a day.

The Rotary Club of Bedfordview recently made a donation to the Avalon Home for the Disabled.

The club delivered a new gas cooker, large refrigerator and microwave to the home.

“The home was also given much-needed linen, towels and other supplies from the Humanitarian Centre, a Rotary project in Bedfordview,” said the club’s Ms Filippa Heyneke.

She said some of the showers are also being refurbished.

Avalon is a residential facility for physically disabled people.

The home provides 24/7 basic caregiving and emotional support to the residents, as well as accommodation and three meals a day.

Residents also get a full laundry service for all bedding and clothing, as well as Occupational Therapy.

Specialised transport to hospitals, clinics and doctors appointments is also available.

Residents also have access to social and recreational activities.
