Residents gather for the big switch-on

The festive lights are to stay on until after Christmas Day.

Thousands of Edenvale residents braved the weather on Saturday to mark this year’s switching on of the ECID Festival Lights.

The lights are back

The Edenvale City Improvement District (ECID) Festival of Lights and Street Carnival treated families to a fun evening out with entertainment for the young and old.
The ECID’s events coordinator, Ms Katy Young, said the objective of the event is to bring back a sense of community involvement to Edenvale.
The more than 6 000 people in attendance were treated to food stalls, a beer garden, a craft market, a children’s play area, dancers, live music, a dress-up competition and brass band performance.
The festive lights are to stay on until after Christmas Day.
