Temporary road closure postponed

A detour route will be implemented on the following dates: Saturday, November 26 from 6am until Sunday, November 27 at 9pm.

The planned temporary road closure of Boeing Road East has been postponed to November 26 and 27.

According to Mr James Hattingh, a contractor, the postponement comes as a result of the inclement weather.

“JL Steeldraft has no option but to postpone putting up the bridge. As the bridge is being trail assembled and painted in an open area, the spraypainting of the bridge and fitment of fascia panels has been delayed considerably as a result of high humidity levels and rain. The company will under no circumstances compromise quality of craftsmanship or final paint work to meet the set date of November 19 and 20 November. We do apologize to all parties involved for any inconvenience caused by the postponement of the date,” said Mr Hattingh.

Motorists travelling between First Avenue and St Margaret Road will be affected.

A detour route will be implemented on the following dates: Saturday, November 26 from 6am until Sunday, November 27 at 9pm.
