The class recorded a whopping 202 distinctions, which represents 36 per cent of the overall subject results (2.8 distinctions per candidate), with 92.9 per cent of the group achieving one or more distinctions.
In addition to the 100 per cent pass rate and 99 per cent degree pass, the school this year boasts five full house distinction passes.
“Furthermore, 73 per cent of Saheti’s matriculants registered for more than the mandatory seven subjects. Forty-nine per cent of the group wrote eight subjects while 21 per cent wrote nine subjects. Two learners wrote 10 subjects. The full house distinction pass candidates all wrote eight or nine subjects, achieving 90 per cent in many of their subjects. In total there were 41 A+ marks, with an impressive 100 per cent for mathematics achieved by full house distinction candidate Gabriela Steenekamp and 99 per cent for mathematics by Savvas Panagiotou. The school’s top achiever, Michael Stephanou, not only achieved full house distinctions but ensured that each of those were within the A+ category,” said Ms Anna Botha, the school’s head of marketing.
