Funky Socks Day returns with R2.5m fundraising target

PNA’s annual Funky Socks Day is back, encouraging people to show off their colourful socks while raising funds to support childhood development and education initiatives.

If you’re battling with your wardrobe on the morning of September 11, the one thing you can’t afford to forget is your Funky Socks!

Yep, PNA Funky Socks Day is back this year, and you can make a fashion statement by purchasing a R10 sticker from PNA.

The initiative this year supports Breadline Africa, Rally to Read and Matla a Bana, and the official campaign aims to raise R2.5m to improve childhood development infrastructure.

Then, they aim to raise an additional R500 000 by February 28 to ensure long-term impact.

Get down to your nearest PNA to buy stickers or order in bulk (minimum 100 stickers, receive 10 free).

So, start thinking about how you will stand out on Funky Socks Day – ditch the no-show socks and opt for calf-length, knee-length or chunky ribbed socks to show off your flair!

You can even create custom socks for your school, company or team. Go to pna.co.za for all the info.

About the beneficiaries
• For over 30 years, Breadline Africa has provided classrooms, libraries, toilets and kitchens that give children the chance to grow, imagine and thrive.
• Rally to Read focuses on improving literacy in under-resourced schools, addressing the significant literacy gap exacerbated by Covid-19 through comprehensive support and resources for teachers and learners.
• Matla A Bana is an award-winning child protection non-profit assisting children who have been raped and sexually abused through various victim support and education projects. Their main goal is to minimise the secondary abuse child victims suffer when reporting rape and sexual abuse because of a failing reporting system.
Get your school, class, office, team or community involved and help brighten futures – one funky sock at a time.
