Tip-off leads to drugs bust

MALVERN – Police were tipped off that the suspect was selling drugs to schoolkids.

Cleveland police arrested a man on 5 February after receiving a tip-off that he was allegedly selling drugs to schoolchildren in Malvern.

“Officers proceeded to the given address. Upon arrival, they found a man in a back room smoking drugs. They searched the room and found 466 grammes of drugs and R400 in cash,” said Cleveland Police Station spokesperson, Captain Johan Jordaan.

The suspect was arrested and detained at the Cleveland Police Station. He is expected to appear in court soon. Investigations are continuing.
