Yeoville police officers arrested 37 suspects from 26 February to 6 March.
The suspects were arrested for committing crimes ranging from rape, kidnapping and common robbery.
The suspects were arrested for the following:
- 2 for rape
- 1 for kidnapping
- 3 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
- 4 for business robbery
- 1 for business burglary
- 1 for dealing without liquor licence
- 3 for malicious damage to property 2 for common robbery
- 4 for common assault
- 1 for possession of a dangerous weapon
- 7 for possession of drugs
- 2 for theft out of motor vehicle
- 2 for theft
- 4 for shoplifting.
“The accused have appeared in different courts and some have paid their fines, while others are out on bail and others remain in prison,” said Yeoville police spokesperson, Captain Sifiso Mabizela.
