Edenvale Rotarian talks about Rio experience
The parade was originally a spring festival and is held before Lent every year, starting on the Friday and ending on Ash Wednesday.
Edenvale Rotary Club Rotarian Ms Margie Evans recently shared her experiences of the 2005 Rio Carnival.
She shared her experience at Mongo’s Portuguese Restaurant on March 27.
Some interesting facts that were shared included that the Rio Carnival is the biggest carnival in the world, with 2-million people per day on the streets of Rio De Janeiro.
