Fundraising party in aid of animals

The Bedfordview and Germiston SPCA recently held a fundraising event on June 10.

The event, which was a birthday party for Cathy Valente-Parkinson, was held at the Italian Club in Bedfordview.

Vanessa Casey, a committee member at the SPCA, described Cathy as a dedicated and actively involved member of the SPCA family.

She said a portion of the entry fee went towards fundraising for the SPCA.

Casey urged the community to get more involved and help the Bedfordview and Germiston SPCA.

At the party Valente-Parkinson told the NEWS she has been with the SPCA for close to seven years.

“I’ve given up everything to volunteer at the SPCA,” she said.
