
Two suspects are on the loose and another is still in hospital following a shoot-out with security at Bedford Centre on June 24.
Bedfordview SAPS spokesperson Captain Andrè de Jager said the incident took place at 11.15am.
“A security officer saw suspects trying to steal a Toyota Hilux bakkie from the parking area. He confronted the suspects and a shoot-out ensued,” said de Jager.
The spokesperson explained that one suspect was shot and wounded and taken to Tembisa Hospital under police guard, while the other two fled the scene in a getaway vehicle.
No firearm was recovered.
The injured suspect who is still in hospital, will be formally charged upon his release.
