Edenvale seniors celebrate Christmas in July

It's never too early to tap into the Christmas spirit.

The Christmas in July lunch for Edenvale senior citizens was recently held at the Edenvale Community Centre.

Lenie van Heerden, the manager of the centre, enjoying the day with one of the senior citizens who enjoyed the Christmas in July lunch.

The lunch held on July 18 saw Christmas decorations put up at the centre and was enjoyed by all who attended.

On the day, senior citizens were treated to music, lunch, prizes and dessert which was a Christmas fruit cake.

The art teacher from the creative art for seniors, Filippa Heyneke, said it was a lovely day spent celebrating together with family and friends.

She said although it is only July it’s never too early to tap into the Christmas spirit.

“There’s a lot happening in the world and it’s great to focus on all good things that matter in our lives,” said Filippa.
