Jeppe High School for Girls hosted its 5km Fun Run and Walk on August 12.

The purpose of the event was to raise funds for the school.
“We would like to build a pedestrian bridge from Roberts Avenue to the school grounds so youngsters will be able to cross the road safely,” said the school’s headmistress Dina Gonçalves.

Gonçalves said the event saw 2 500 tickets sold.
The 5km route was manned by marshals and the Metro Police.
The day included loads of entertainment after the walk at the Grade Nine entrepreneurial market.
