The SAPS Johannesburg East cluster arrested 82 suspects from August 14 to 20 for various crimes, including murder.

Jeppe SAPS spokesperson Captain Richard Munyai said most of the suspects appeared at Jeppe Magistrate’s Court and others are yet to appear in court.
“Some of them paid fines and bail while others remain in police custody for further investigations,” he said.
The arrests included:
• 10 for common assault.
• Six for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
• Two for malicious damage to property.
• Four for possession of unlicensed firearms.
• Nine for possession of stolen goods.
• Two for rape.
• One for murder.
• Six for theft.
• Two for common robbery and one for armed robbery.
• One for house break-in and theft
• Two for theft of copper.
• One for possession of hijacked truck.
