Bezuidenhout Valley residents launched an independent patrol team last weekend.
Spokesperson for the team Michael Holloway said they launched the team to combat crime in the area.
“We have been patrolling for the past four months. The patrol team was formed for crime prevention, visible policing and primary response to incidents,” he said.
The Bezuidenhout patrol team were joined by Jeppe SAPS patrol team.
