The event was organised by Anthea Koen and the Greenstone Hill Running Club and aimed to raise funds for the Cupcakes of Hope project.
The initiative has several events during the year with the main event being South Africa’s National Cupcake Day 4 Kids with Cancer held in September.

The day, which is mainly community driven, sees community members bake and donate cupcakes which are sold to raise fund for families who have family members with cancer.
The funds help cover medical costs.
Anthea said at the Stoneridge event, cupcakes were sold for R10 and these proceeds, as well as the R30 registration fees for the family run, were donated to Cupcakes of Hope.

The first three men to cross the finish line were Adriano Garone, Luke Pienaar and Riley Groenewald.
The first woman to cross the finish line was Roxanne Norman followed by Bernadette Norman.
Pienaar who was the first child to finish the run received a spot prize.
