The heavy rains washed a lot of debris and plastic down the Jukskei

Morninghill residents took matters into their own hands when they cleaned the Jukskei River.

The clean-up held on October 14 saw a number of community members joining in making a difference in their neighbourhood.

Ang Loyd, organiser of the initiative, said she decided to clean the river following the heavy rains of October 9.

She said the heavy rains washed a lot of debris and plastic down the Jukskei.

The next clean-up will be held on October 28 between 4pm and sunset.
