Residents educated about 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence
CLEVELAND – The aim of the event was to educate residents about domestic violence against women and children.

Cleveland SAPS, Social Crime Prevention, communication officers, Sector 4 Crime Forum, Social Development, Jeppe Patrollers and the Youth Desk held the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign at Denver Informal settlement recently.

“The aim of the event was to educate residents about domestic violence against women and children,” said spokesperson for Cleveland SAPS Capt Johan Jordaan.

Residents were given pamphlets containing information about gender-based violence. Jordaan said the event was a success. “Residents supported the event and they were willing to learn more about violence against women and children,” he said.
