Edenglen High School was placed ninth for best performing school in the City of Ekurhuleni at the Academic Excellence Awards held at Emperors Palace.

Edenglen falls part of the Ekurhuleni region and is made up of three districts: Ekurhuleni South, Gauteng East as well as Ekurhuleni North which represents approximately 180 high schools.
EGHS was also awarded for having the top history learner for the whole of Ekurhuleni.
