Johannesburg SAPS East Cluster arrested 64 suspects between April 6 to 8.
The suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from shoplifting and rape to theft.
This cluster is made up of seven police stations namely Cleveland, Jeppe, Hillbrow, Rosebank, Parkview, Norwood and Yeoville.
The arrests included:
• Nine for assault common.
• Two for shoplifting.
• Six for theft.
• Three for house break-in and theft.
• Two for rape.
• Six for common robbery.
• One for armed robbery.
• Two suspects were arrested for murder
“The suspects have appeared in different courts. Some have paid their fines while others are out on bail and others remain in prison,” said Jeppe SAPS spokesperson Capt Richard Munyai.
