Edenvale crime prevention operation yields arrest

"We will investigate the man to determine if he is linked to any cases in Edenvale."

One suspect has been arrested following a joint crime prevention operation in Edenvale.

The operation, held on May 24, saw the Edenvale SAPS, Edenvale Community Police Forum and security companies join forces to fight crime.

Captain Jean Olckers, the spokesperson of the Edenvale Police Station, said the suspect was arrested in sector two.

“The 29-year-old man was arrested for the possession of instruments used to break into houses,” said Olckers.

“We will investigate the man to determine if he may be linked to any cases in Edenvale.”

Olckers thanked everyone who assisted in the operation.
