Jeppe SAPS arrested two suspects for cable theft and attempted murder at Kaserne West Train Station in City Deep on September 2.
Spokesperson for the station, Capt Richard Munyayi, said the security guards were doing patrols when they received a call from their control room that there were people stealing cables.
“The guards proceeded to the address and found ten men who were digging. The suspects started to shoot at the security guards who returned fire and the men ran in different directions,” he said.
