The man shot and killed in Bedfordview on Monday has been confirmed as George Mihaljevic.

The police remain tight-lipped about the murder.

Bedfordview SAPS spokesperson Capt André de Jager said that the SAPS cannot speculate on the motive for the murder.

“We can only state that we are investigating a murder,” said De Jager.

The NEWS previously reported that he was was shot at the corner of Van Buuren and Kloof roads.

De Jager said the victim was having lunch at a Bedfordview restaurant and was allegedly on his way home in the north of Johannesburg when he was shot by two gunmen on a motorcycle at about 5.30pm.
