Businesses on Langerman Drive in Kensington were left fearing for their safety on the weekend of October 6 after three robberies in three days.
According to the spokesperson for the Cleveland Police Station, Captain Johan Jordaan, the robberies happened late in the afternoon in all three days.
“The first robbery was October 6 at about 4.15pm at a nail salon. Two male suspects entered the business, one armed. The robbers instructed the employees to go into one of the rooms. They searched the women and took their belongings and cash,” said Jordaan.
He said 13 cellular phones, two wedding rings and a watch, were taken.

“One robber told them it was a robbery, and took out his firearm and pointed it towards the woman. He wanted to know where the ‘boss’ was. She took him to the consulting room. The doctor was busy with a client. The robbers searched them and asked for the cash register to be opened and they took cash. They also took a phone,” said Jordaan.
The suspect fled the scene after they locked them in the doctor’s room.
“The robberies have the same modus operandi. But we are not sure if it’s the same group,’ said Jordaan.
