St Andrew’s School for Girls Senior School annual speech night

Learners achieved awards in categories of sport and academics for the year of 2018.

The St Andrew’s School for Girls’ senior school held its annual speech night on October 11.

Learners achieved awards in categories of sport and academics for the year 2018.

Awards recipients were:

• Stephanie Horton Cultural Participation Trophy was awarded to Bongiwe Bhebhe-Mkandla and Rufaro Chiswo.

Stephanie Horton Cultural Participation Trophy award went to Rufaro Chiswo and Bongiwe Bhebhe-Mkandla.

• National Representation was awarded to Kelsey-Erin Gems for indoor netball, Cara Nel for rowing, Emily Pollock for rowing and Bupe Ruele for swimming.

National Representation Swimming Award went to Bupe Ruele.

•National Recognition for selection was awarded to Kelly Baker for dancing; Kerryn Herbst, Jenna Pearse and Hannah Robertson for National Youth Swimming Squad; Hannah-Grace McBride for u-16 SA squash team and Emma Paget for u-16 SA hockey Team.

• National Recognition for participation for SASRU rowing went to Louise Basson, Kyla da Costa and Mbali Musundwa.

National Representation Rowing awards went to Emily Pollock and Cara Nel.

• National Ranking (top 10 in the country) went to Hannah-Grace McBride (squash), Rachel Shannon (squash), Tanika Panaino (tennis – mixed doubles).

National Recognition for SASRU Rowing went to Mbali Musundwa and Louise Basson.

• Honours were awarded to Cara Nel and Emily Pollock, both for SA Rowing.

• Kelly Lynch Trophy for Contribution to Team Sport went to Stefania Aldrighetti and Nadia Gaspari.

National Ranking for Squash SA Top 10 went to Rachel Shannon and Hannah-Grace McBride.

• Kirsten Huysamen Service Award for Sport went to Jodi Linaker.

• Tregoning Trophy for Highest Sporting Achievement was awarded to Cara Nel and Emily Pollock.

• All-around Sportswoman of the Year went to Jenna Pearse and Danielle Quinn.

• Gwendoline Duganzich Trophy for Diligence over five years went to Tahne Badenhorst.

•Outstanding Academic Achievement in Grade 12 and Full Colours went to Stefania Aldrighetti, Georgia Carrington, Kathleen Charlton, Alexandra De Sousa, Nthabiseng Dikobe, Courtney Greve, Jiaming Li, Emily Macgregor, Sharessa Naidoo, Cara Nel, Jenna Pyle, Nicole Rivett, Luba Siwawa-Ndai, Michelle Stevens, Matshepo Tshabalala, Luandri van Vuuren, Vivian Yan, Courtney Jeffery and Simone Luis.

Outstanding Academic Achievement, Academic Honours and Full Colours learners.
