The NGO was founded in 2015 by Melony Beulah Venkatas, Zanele Epskamp and Farren Venkatas.
Melony told the EXPRESS that the NGO started long before it was registered.
“We have always been helping those who are less fortunate than us. I started by hosting birthday parties for children whose parents could not afford to. I then started to cook for the needy in the area.

“I always wanted to help those who are less fortunate. It is impossible to take everyone in at your house and buy them food so we decided that we are going to do the little that we can to help them. We provided a soup kitchen at old age homes in Jeppestown. It is not easy to run the NGO as we don’t have funding most of the time.
“I would like to start some community projects such as fashion design, shoemaking and computer skills training with residents in the area but I cannot run those projects at the moment because I do not have funding. I have now partnered with Bambanani community development and we are now helping with the little that we have,” she said.
Melony said she would like to get an office space to run community projects from.
“I will also use the space to cook and provide soup to people in this area. We will appreciate any donations of any kind,” she said.
Those who would like to help can contact Melony Beulah Venkatas on 084 083 2812.
