The Green Craft Bar fund-raiser in support of Hospice Edenvale
The Hospice Edenvale is in dire need of financial assistance.
On November 24, 140 residents attended the Edenvale Hospice Care Centre fund-raiser at The Green Craft Bar situated at the Modderfontein Golf Course.
All proceeds of the event went to the care centre.
The night was filled with good food and music from Lemon n Light with Veronique.
“R50 000 was raised at the event to assist the hospice and we need to get more funding. The care centre has not been funded for over six months and is in dire straits,” said Donne Endres, event organiser and Edenvale community member.

She said Edenvale Care Centre Hospice is the last remaining hospice in Ekurhuleni.
“Edenvale Hospice caters for patients with end-stage renal and cardiac failure, hypertension, strokes, diabetes one and two, cancer, HIV/Aids, tuberculosis and multi-drug resistance tuberculosis,” said Endres.
Endres said the hospice does not get financial assistance from the government and is therefore close to closing its doors.
