Cleveland CPF recognises officers
Cleveland SAPS honours its hoard at annual station excellence awards.
The Cleveland CPF finished its year-long crime prevention mandate when, together with Cleveland SAPS, the forum hosted the station’s annual excellence awards on December 7.
This was in recognition of strides made by the station towards creating a safer police precinct.

CCPF chairman Godfrey Mothibe was on hand to give certificates to the 12 men and women in attendance who form part of the Cleveland SAPS operational and support staff.
Mothibe said it was important for the CCPF as well as the community to recognise police as custodians of law.

“They are our daughters and sons,” said Mothibe.
“They must feel welcome whenever they are around us. Since 1994, it was decided that CPFs must be another leg of the police in order to move forward.”
Mike Debeila, who is a principal personnel officer at Cleveland SAPS, was pleased to receive his certificate of appreciation and believes the awards will help to improve the quality of service at the station going forward.

“The awards are a good initiative and can help in improving the quality of service at the station as being recognised enables you to put more effort into your work.”
“It’s a nice feeling to be recognised for all the work that we do. As police officers, we need to be encouraged.”

“The public too has a role to play in assisting the police in fighting crime,” Sgt Melita Masango said.
