Writers 2000 will be hosting a workshop for aspiring writers.
W2000 is an interest group for writers of all levels. Meetings are an ideal place to network with other writers.
The workshop will be held on February 9 and will consist of three sections.
The first section will be presented by author Jill Jacques on the topic ‘The essence of writing a story’.

The second section will be presented by Burgie Ireland, a freelance writer and chairperson of W2000, discussing the topic ‘Mind-mapping your story’.
The third section by Nicolette Gardiner Bosman, a freelance editor and associate member of the Professional Editors Guild, will be on the importance of editing.

Participants are advised to take their laptops or tablets to follow the practical tips that will be covered on editing with Microsoft Word.
Items such as the selection of the version of English to be used, the use of plain language, numbering, and punctuation will also be covered.
The workshop will start at 9.30am and end at 12.30pm.

The workshop will be held at the Rand Aid’s Iyoni Creek clubhouse situated on the corner of Wordsworth and Modderfontein roads, Lyndhurst.
