Nikiwe Dube the 2018 matriculant from Edenglen High School was among the top ten academic performers in the City of Ekurhuleni.

She received the award on January 24 at the City of Ekurhuleni’s Academic Excellence Awards from the mayoral committee (MMC) for human settlements, Clr Lesiba Mpya.
At school, Nikiwe received the Dux Scholarum Award. She maintained a 90 per cent average in matric and was the top student in her grades for four of her five high school years.
She hopes to study medicine at the University of Cape Town.
