Chinese community invites all to celebrate the Year of the Pig

Entertainment for the event will include lion and dragon dance performance, Chinese dancing and singing, Kung Fu displays and Tai Chi displays.

Residents are invited to join the Chinese community in celebrating the Year of the Pig on February 23.

The celebrations will be held at 11 Commissioner Street in Ferreirastown situated in Johannesburg.

Those wanting to attend the celebrations are asked to take note that Commissioner Street will be cordoned off between Miriam Makeba and Alexander streets for the duration of the festival.

Entertainment for the event will include lion and dragon dance performance, Chinese dancing and singing, Kung Fu displays and Tai Chi displays.

Food stalls will be available from 4pm and entertainment will commence at 5pm while firework displays will start at 9pm.

The celebrations will include a musical firework display.
