Cleveland SAPS is investigating a case of murder and attempted murder after a man was shot and wounded by another after he allegedly stabbed his estranged girlfriend.
The incident took place on January 10 on Main Reef and Nicholson roads in Denver. Police arrested a 31-year-old man and charged him with the murder of 29-year-old Jabulile Zwane.
Cleveland SAPS spokesperson Capt Johan Jordaan said the deceased’s next of kin had been notified of her death.
“The murder suspect had been in an on-and-off relationship with the deceased for an undisclosed period of time. Zwane had reportedly been walking back from work when she was attacked with a knife, following an argument,” said Jordaan.

“The shooter fled the scene in his car after firing one shot,” Jordaan told the EXPRESS.
He said emergency services arrived on scene and treated both patients.
“The man and the woman were taken to Germiston Hospital. Zwane was declared dead on arrival.”
The murder suspect appeared in the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg on January 14.
Jordaan could not comment on the outcome of court proceedings.
