The SAPS Joburg Flying Squad arrested 11 suspects for various crimes in different parts of Joburg during routine crime prevention patrols from February 1 and 4.
Police also recovered three hijacked vehicles, including a Toyota Corolla and an Isuzu double cab.
They also managed to recover a stolen bike, a Toyota Hilux, VW Polo and a Ford motor vehicle.
Spokesperson for Joburg Flying Squad Sgt Desmond Subramoney said, “Police members are determined to help the community, and they recognise the needs of the community.
“Public members are encouraged to work with police members in order to understand all things that constitute crime. All 11 suspects, aged between 26 to 38, will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on different charges.”
Arrests included:
• Three suspects arrested for possession of drugs.
• Three suspects arrested for fraud.
• Two suspects arrested for theft.
• One suspect arrested for assault.
• One suspect arrested for possession of stolen vehicle.
• One suspect for possession of stolen bike.
