WoW raises funds for tuition fees
Fund a WoW is a campaign that aims to raise funds for students to cover their tuition fees.

The challenge of university fees is a growing problem that is causing the youth not to further their studies or drop out.
World of Word (WoW) poetry session understands the challenges students are faced with and they want to assist with the ‘Fund a Wow’ campaign.
“Fund a WoW is a campaign that aims to raise funds for students to cover their tuition fees,” said Hector Mgiba.
“We are asking a donation from as little as R50+ at the next poetry session as a donation for a greater cause. We want to help struggling students with their fees by raising funds through donations at one of our monthly poetry sessions,” explained Mgiba.
The WoW poetry sessions were started in 2011 by Hector Mgiba and Nkosana Mhlari.

The aim of the poetry session is to offer a platform for poets and artist to come together and share talents.
“We come together to share our work and try to create an intimate world of expression, through art, for poets and lovers of words to come and get lost in our world. We felt it was important to also support and help those in need in,” explained Mgiba.
The poetry sessions take place twice a month on Sunday’s at Cafe 141 in Queen Street.
“We invite artists and poets to come and share their work and support the campaign because the money will assist a student in need,” said Mgiba.
