Photographers come together at Edenvale Community Centre
Hoping to grow its ranks, the club is inviting those interested to get involved.
Every two months, members of Edenvale Photographic Club come together with the hopes of bettering themselves.
Photographers from across Johannesburg meet at Edenvale Community Centre where they receive feedback and constructive criticism on their best photographs.
Founded 69 years ago, the club continues to grow from strength to strength often attracting more than 30 members between the ages of 14 and 70-years-old.

Hoping to grow its ranks, the club is inviting those interested to get involved.
New members will be welcomed with introductory lessons on all aspects of the club, including entering national and international competitions and be given options for mentorship.
Club membership is R300 per year for single members and R450 per year for families.
At each club meeting, a guest judge is invited to comment on and score photographs from each member.
Photographs are displayed on the screen without author names, enabling the judge to critique and score fairly, without any bias.
Members are graded into star categories, ranging from one to five, according to their level of expertise.
New members start at a one-star level and, as members progress through the levels, the requirements associated with each photograph become more stringent and competition becomes tougher.
At each meeting, members can submit up to three photographs in either nature or pictorial categories.
Throughout the remainder of the year, quarterly workshops, covering topics such as macro and individual photography, will be held to assist developing members.
Monthly outings will be scheduled in and around Gauteng, introducing members to new locations and photographic opportunities.
In June, the club is set to visit Lesotho and focus on landscapes and indigenous portraits.
