Grade Eight learner Tayla Wilmot from St Andrew’s School for Girls played in the Inter-Provincial Tennis Tournament from March 16 to 19 and was unbeaten in her seven singles matches.
Tayla also played in the Tennis South Africa Super 8 Tournament on March 21, where she progressed through five rounds to reach the final.
She beat two of the recently selected SA Schools players en route to the finals, but unfortunately lost in three sets in the finals on March 26.
The Tennis South Africa Nationals Tournament started on March 28, where Tayla progressed through five rounds to reach the semi-finals where she lost; however, she will still secure a minimum top-four finish in the girls u-14 national tournament.
