Bedfordview SAPS spokesperson Capt Andrè de Jager said the arrests were made after the SAPS received information that suspects, connected to an attempted robbery in Greenstone, were in the Bedfordview area.

“Members of crime prevention, under the command of Sgt Nong, were patrolling the area when they received the information on the location of their vehicle,” said De Jager.
He said officers proceeded towards Eastgate Mall where they came across a silver Toyota Etios with a false registration number.
He said the three suspects and vehicle were taken to Bedfordview Police Station where the vehicle was searched. Officers found the original registration number in the boot of the vehicle.
“SAPS members also found a 9mm firearm with live ammunition. The serial number had been filed off,” said de Jager.
De Jager said the suspects, aged between 25 to 30, will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
