A notice inviting objections on comments on a development was placed on the wall of Reeflords residential development, in Greenstone.
Residents had previously questioned whether any public participation had taken place.
Ward 32 Clr Bongani Nkomo said he lodged a query on the development.
“I have further provided the City with a petition drafted by adjacent residents indicating that they were not consulted on this development. I have requested the land use department to grant myself and affected residents a meeting in this regard. I am still awaiting a response,” said Nkomo.

In recent months, the NEWS reported on the new residential area which is currently in construction.
Previously Dora Cheng, Reeflord’s head of sales and marketing, said public participation was held and all present parties had no problem with the project.
CoJ stakeholder manager in the office of the MMC for development planning, Poppy Louw, previously said that the public participation application was advertised on October 25, 2017, in terms of the required legislation, with no objections received.

“Adverts were placed on-site, in newspapers, the Government Gazette and notices were issued to all contiguous neighbours. There was no obligation to hold any community meetings,” said Louw.
Comment was again requested from Reeflord’s and Louw.
Comment was requested by March 29 at 10am.
No comment was received at the time of going to print.
