An objections notice was placed on the wall of the new residential development behind Greenstone Crescent Shopping Centre, in March.
The NEWS reported on the development which is currently under construction, in recent months.
Concerned residents became wary of the project when it started. They cited concerns such as school shortages, public participation, traffic, electricity and water shortages.

City of Johannesburg and developer Reeflords, provided clarity related to the latest notice.
Poppy Louw, CoJ’s stakeholder manager in the office of MMC for development planning followed up with the Building Development Management directorate.

They said the notice was for the building plans by the Plans Examination Division and were approved.
Reeflords response from Town planner José Monterio further explained that the notice was to increase the amount of private park available to the units, to be utilised as a recreation area by future residents.
“There was no deviation from the current approved residential land use rights,” said Monterio.

Louw previously said that the Johannesburg Roads Agency has approved the development and has stipulated several access upgrades only.
Johannesburg water commented positively on November 10, 2017, citing adequate supply to the proposed development.
Ward 32 Clr Bongani Nkomo previously said he lodged a query on the development in March.

“I have further provided the City with a petition drafted by adjacent residents indicating that they were not consulted on this development.
“I have requested the land use department to grant myself and affected residents a meeting in this regard. I am still awaiting a response,” said Nkomo.
Recently in May, Nkomo said he still does not have further information at this stage.
“Objections have been submitted. Once they are processed there should be a tribunal facilitated by the City between Development Planning, the developer and the residents.”
