Annual fund-raising golf day
The organisation provides support and raises funds for specific projects in all our national parks.
Poaching of rhinos remains a serious concern in South Africa.
Community members who feel strong about South Africa’s natural conservation are invited to help raise funds for the cause.
SANParks’ Honorary Rangers of the East Rand Region will hold their annual fund-raising golf day at the Modderfontein Golf Club on October 25.
Norma Sharratt, a national communications committee member of SANParks, said the region hopes to attract a full field of players with proceeds going towards rhino conservation and counter-poaching initiatives in South Africa’s national parks.
“Several teams have already signed up for the four-ball alliance event.”

Redesigned by Hugh Baiocchi in 1990, the Modderfontein Golf Course weaves its way past dams and twisting streams.
“The event promises to be a scenic and challenging game of golf where water is in play on 12 of the holes,” said Norma.
It will cost R3 000 per four-ball or R750 per person for green fees, prizes, an dinner and a donation to the SANParks Honorary Rangers.
The event will begin at 11.30am.
