St Andrew’s wins at ISF

The learners were selected by the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists JHB Central Region’s committee members.

Grade Seven learners Naledi Mthimunye, Lily Holroyd, Emma Rumsey and Sophia Stegmann from St Andrew’s School for Girls were recently selected to take part in the Eskom Expo International Science Fair (ISF) held in September.

The learners were selected by the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists JHB Central Region’s committee members.

Naledi Mthimunye and Lily Holroyd’s project on Phytoremediation and Emma Rumsey’s project on the effect of water hyacinth as an effective fertiliser for tomato plants received gold medals.

Sophia Stegmann was a silver medalist, winning best category winner in the animal sciences section for her project entitled “Can you change the nutritional value of chicken eggs?”
